Dear Neighbourhood Matters user, On Saturday 13th September at approximately 11:50am officers from Oswestry B Shift Response Team and the Rural North Safer Neighbourhoods Officer attended a report of a disturbance and raised voices at an address on Albert Square, Weston Rhyn.
Upon the officers’ attendance at the location they were approached by a male who became highly agitated and aggressive towards them, displaying threatening behaviour and making verbal threats of violence. The male kicked out at one officer, making contact with their persons which resulted in the male being restrained and arrested for Assaulting a Police officer. The male was also found to be in possession of a suspected Class B Drug which was found on his person, so was further arrested for the drug possession offence. The male’s agitation and aggression continued enroute to Shrewsbury Custody Suite and all the way to his cell.
The male was charge for the two offences and today pleaded guilty at court for both offences resulting in being ordered to pay £421 in fines and costs.
This sort of behaviour won’t be tolerated towards emergency services or other members of the public with positive and robust action taken where possible. Lets keep our communities safe. With regards, The Rural North Team.
